about us

Four Winds Meditation was set up in 2004 by Hilary Charles (formerly Halley) and Peter Halley. Based in Perthshire, the brother-sister duo have been active in the field of holistics and alternative therapies for nearly 20 years, amassing a vast amount of knowledge, particularly in meditation.

It was during a retreat in the early 90s that Hilary first heard the entrancing sound of Tibetan singing bowls and it stuck with her. When she discovered that finding a bowl supplier in the UK was akin to a needle in a haystack, she decided to set up a business importing and selling bowls and accessories and other meditation aids.

All of the bowls are sourced from suppliers in India and Nepal and are shipped over directly to Four Winds Meditation. All products are created in a style similar to those used by the Buddhist Monks who first used the bowls for ritual and ceremony, incorporating seven metals which correspond to planets in the solar system and chakras.
With bowls of varying sizes, shapes, prices and colours, there is bound to be a bowl that best suits your need and budget.

Four Winds Meditation travels around Scotland and North England, attending exhibitions, holding workshops and providing their unique Resonance Therapy. From a muddy pitch at Traquair to the Glasgow Concert Hall, you are sure to hear the sounds of Hilary, Peter or one of their faithful helpers "dinging and singing" a traditional-style Tibetan Singing Bowl.
